Friends,
We learned yesterday of the passing of teacher and administrator Joyce Teese, who lost the battle overnight with adrenal cortical cancer. Mrs. Teese taught many of us eighth grade during the 1970s as well as techniques of daily living (TDL) to fifth graders in her early years at the school She arranged those yearly spring trips to the Extine farm and the fall hay rides at the same location. She always had a big smile, and rarely complained, except that is, when Ted Crum and I induced her to issue her first demerits in 1975. We were bad. But Joyce took all that in stride and never had an angry word for anyone. She developed the cancer, unfortunately within a year or so of her retirement in 2007. Goodbye Joyce. We’ll miss you.
