Earlier this week, we submitted to the Advocate some information about our plans for the May 21st regional.  Below is that article.  Hope to see most of you at the regional.  I promise it will be a beautiful spring day to come to Oakland.

An invitation to Attend the Southwest Regional Meeting

Once again, the Golden Triangle Council of the Blind, (GTCB), is pleased to be hosting the 2016 Southwest Regional meeting of the Pennsylvania Council of the Blind. The meeting will take place on May 21, 2016 from 9 am to about 3 pm at the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children at 201 N. Bellefield Avenue in Pittsburgh. At this time, about 90 per cent of our arrangements are complete, so please read on so you can review our plans for this interesting gathering.

Registration will take place from 9 to 9:30 am. After some welcoming remarks and introduction of attendees, our first speaker will be Matt Pavlovsky of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission who will talk to us about regional transportation issues and plans. We look forward to remarks from our new state president, Sue lichtenfels who will share her thoughts and plans for the future of our state affiliate. We will receive a report from our colleague, Karen Rockey, president of the Washington County chapter, and we will offer information regarding developments within GTCB.

Lunch will be provided at a cost of about $15. Here are the menu items.

, After lunch, we have We have asked the Reverend Sally Jo Snyder of the Consumer Health Coalition to speak to us on the topic of advocacy. If you heard Sally Jo speak at our 2014 regional, you know she will grab our attention after a great lunch. To end the day, we have invited State Representative Dan D. Frankel to speak to us about issues in the state legislature including the paralysis in state government.
